Who We Are

The Global Leadership Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation registered in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland. It is independent of any private, corporate or commercial interest.

The Foundation is constituted by the General Assembly of Members, who are served by a Board of Directors and a small Secretariat.

The GLF was founded by FW de Klerk when he retired from political office. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2004-2021 and was succeeded as Chair by Helen Clark. Victor Blank is the foundation’s Vice Chairman. The GLF Board is responsible for the objectives of the Global Leadership Foundation and for all decisions relating to the Foundation’s structure, governance, strategic aims and financial management, including the Secretariat work plan and budget. 

The Secretariat is responsible for the coordination of the activities of the organization. It based in London and is the hub of the GLF network, linking GLF Members with other parts of the network, including the Foundation’s business, governmental and non-governmental partners. The CEO of GLF is Robert Fulton.

Board is advised on the strategic direction of the Foundation by a Strategy and Development Committee.

The Foundation is supported by the GLF International Council which consists of organisations and individuals who recognize the importance of GLF’s work and support the Foundation financially.

GLF is registered in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland. It has two associate Foundations: GLF (USA), a 501(c)(3) Foundation registered in Delaware, USA; and GLF (UK) – a charity registered in England and Wales.
