Interviewed by Stephen Sackur, De Klerk discussed whether post-apartheid South Africa is losing its status as the dominant power in Sub-Saharan Africa and whether the rainbow nation is living up to its promise. As economic growth transforms the continent from Nigeria, to Angola and Uganda, Sackur asked whether the country is losing its way as, from left and right, black and white, there are questions about the effectiveness of the current generation of ANC leaders.
